Abora LTS is a maybe right now, not a promise. The idea: a stable, long-running edition of Abora OS where the installer asks Server or Workstation, then builds the right role from the same Abora base. It's technically close to release-ready — what's left is mostly bug fixing, not new work — but whether it actually ships depends on whether it's worth finishing. No release date, no commitment yet, and it's now looking more like a v5-era thing than anything sooner. This page describes the direction, not a shipped product.

Installer choice

Server and Workstation are roles, not separate downloads. One ISO, one installer path, one choice.

LTS Server

For infrastructure, admin work, school labs, team services, and systems that should be managed rather than manually updated on a rolling basis.

LTS Workstation

For managed desktop installs that still need Abora's rollback, ANIX workflows, and a reproducible, stable base.

How it relates to v5

LTS is not separate from Abora. It is a v5 path.

The same core ideas still apply: NixOS-style configuration, rollback, release validation, ANIX commands, and docs that explain what the system is doing. LTS adds an extended support guarantee on top.

Commands

LTS should still feel like Abora.

Same ANIX commands, same rollback, same repair tools. The LTS label is meant to add stability guarantees, not become a different OS. Exact commands below are the current plan, not a shipped interface.
