What was in v3.14
Every headline feature, in one place.
Denali brought the full rewrite together: a solid installer, ANIX v1, and TinyPM v4, the foundation EVEREST 4.0 now builds on.
NixOS unstable base
Runs the latest NixOS unstable channel for cutting-edge packages and kernels.
ANIX v1
The human-friendly NixOS layer for system management, profiles, and rollbacks, configured via ANIX, not Abora config.
23 desktop environments
GNOME, KDE, Hyprland, Sway, COSMIC, Qtile, Openbox, MangoWM, and many more.
Flatpak + Flathub
First-class Flatpak support out of the box, with no manual setup.
Rebuilt installer
Omarchy-inspired TUI installer with compact boxed fields and live install progress.
TinyPM v4
First-class Abora/ANIX/NixOS-aware app manager, shipped in this release.
Update channels
Choose stable or unstable update channels, and swap between them whenever.
COSMIC added
COSMIC joined the supported desktop matrix in this release.
Under the hood
Runs NixOS unstable, safely.
Abora v3.14 tracks the NixOS unstable channel for the latest packages and kernels. Because the system is declarative and atomic, 'unstable' doesn't mean risky: every upgrade rolls back with one command.
- Base channel
- NixOS unstable
- Upgrade model
- Atomic generations
- Rollback
- Instant, from boot menu or ANIX
- Config
- Declarative, reproducible
