Everest in 30 seconds (because nobody reads the long version)

2026-07-27 · AnimatedGTVR

Five editions: Pick your desktop (Cosmic, Hyprland, GNOME, KDE, or console) in the ISO. Full 23-desktop menu still at install. No lock-in.

GPU actually works: Installer checks your hardware and picks good defaults (NVIDIA → nouveau, no popup). Change it later with one line.

ANIX v2: Configs in ANIX Native, MKO, or ModuCPP all work. `anix diff-plan` shows you what's about to change before you apply it.

GUI apps: Welcome screen and settings editor. Both just wrap the CLI, so you're never stuck clicking buttons if you don't want to.

Alpha release: v4.0 Everest is an alpha release. The 2026.07.01 build belongs to the alpha track.

Built on Denali: TUI installer, 23 desktops, ANIX v1, TinyPM v4. All the solid stuff from 3.14.
