System Requirements

Hardware requirements for running Abora Linux.

Minimum Requirements

To run Abora Linux, your computer will need to meet these specifications:

**Graphics**Any GPU with Wayland supportGPU with hardware acceleration
**Display**1024x7681920x1080 or higher

Supported Architectures

Currently, Abora will support:

  • x86_64 (64-bit): Full support for Intel and AMD processors

Coming Later

  • ARM64: Support for Raspberry Pi and other ARM devices (approximately 2 months after Desktop release)

UEFI vs Legacy BIOS

Abora will support:

  • UEFI (recommended): Modern boot system
  • Legacy BIOS: For older hardware compatibility

Virtualization Support

Abora will run in virtual machines:

  • VirtualBox: Tested and supported
  • VMware: Tested and supported
  • QEMU/KVM: Tested and supported
  • Hyper-V: Basic support

VM Requirements

For virtual machines, we recommend:

  • At least 2 GB RAM allocated (4 GB preferred)
  • 20 GB virtual disk (dynamically allocated)
  • Enable 3D acceleration if available

Abora is currently in early development. These requirements are projected and may change as development progresses.
